The Animal Welfare Act & Our Policies

At Pet Angels UK our business is animals and their welfare. The Animal Welfare Act 2006 states what is acceptable care for animals and here at Pet Angels UK we want to help make sure that the bill is upheld. Below is a link to the RSPCA page where you can find out more information on the act.

In line with the act, we are careful to recommend to owners what is in line with the law when it comes to their pet’s care. Many dogs and even cats, need company, as well as regular food, toileting and exercise and we will therefore recommend to owners that maximum ‘home alone’ timescales are not breached. Animals used to a busy household and regular company can easily become very distressed and may become ill as a result of it. We appreciate that every pet is different and some cope better than others with change and separation from their owners and we will assess each situation separately. We will however be considering the welfare act and use common sense when requested to take on jobs that require us to leave any pet un-visited for longer than we feel is reasonable.

All our staff carry copies of the act for ease of reference.
